More About David Stern
David Stern was trained in the old school of jewelry-making under European expert Jewelers in London, England. After serving his five-year apprenticeship, he opened his first jewelry store in 1970 in Hatton Garden. David started making silver pieces when he was twenty years old. From 1970 to 1976, he established his business after designing a unique jewelry line that took off. David began selling his original pieces to jewelry stores throughout the U.K.
He also acquired the contract to sell a part of his line of jewelry exclusively to Mikimoto Pearls UK LTD, which they sold to the public. From being a thriving manufacturing business that sells his one-of-a-kind designs to retail jewelers throughout the U.K., David became a nationally known jewelry designer. This led him to open two jewelry stores in central London. In 1976, David immigrated to the U.S. to look for more opportunities and become exposed to new and innovative jewelry ideas. He also wanted to educate himself on the American way of doing business.
David then began to buy and sell antique and estate jewelry. He also traveled across the U.S. to participate in the estate jewelry show circuit to acquire new contacts and build a reputation for his expertise in that field while developing his latest collection of unique jewelry designs. David settled and opened his first U.S. store in downtown Miami in the Seybold Building, the central building in South Florida’s jewelry district. This store displayed his original designs and the antique jewelry collection he gathered while participating in various antique shows.
After two years, David sold his original designs throughout the U.S. and moved out of Miami. He opened a jewelry store in downtown Delray Beach on Atlantic Avenue and in Palm Beach on Worth Avenue. Currently, David Stern Jewelers’ store is located in Boca Raton on Powerline Rd., serving the South Florida community. The showroom displays a wide array of exquisite jewelry collections with a fully equipped workshop where designs are all done in-house.
